- On June 5, 2025, Evangel Presbytery approved the following:
- The creation of the Doctrinal Declarations of the Presbytery (DDP) as part of the Presbytery’s Constitution.
- The adoption of the doctrinal portions of “Declaration of Doctrine and Policies Concerning Sexuality” (formerly BCO 28), with extensive revisions, into the DDP as the Declaration of Doctrine on Sexuality.
- The adoption of the content of “Abortion and the Church: What We Teach” (formerly BCO 29), as written with no revisions, into the DDP as the Declaration of Doctrine on Abortion.
- Amendments to the Book of Church Order comprising the adoption of policy statements, as revised, from “Declaration of Doctrine and Policies Concerning Sexuality” into the Directory for Worship.
- Amendments to the BCO defining the relative constitutional weight of the DDP.
- A statement on abortion called “Abortion: What We Teach” was adopted into Evangel’s Book of Church Order as chapter 29 on October 6, 2023.
- A chapter called “Declaration of Doctrine and Policies Concerning Sexuality” (ch. 28 at the time) was included in Evangel Presbytery’s original Book of Church Order, adopted on February 20, 2019.
